More than 100 locals gathered at a community rally on Saturday 28 March, calling on all major parties to commit to upgrading Taylors Road ahead of the state election in November.

The ‘Fix Taylors Road’ campaign, launched by Brimbank council, calls for congestion and safety hazards to be addressed by declaring the route a state arterial road, duplicating it, and delivering the upgrade without delay.

Taylors Road is one of Melbourne’s west’s most congested arterial roads. Drivers on the unduplicated road between Kings Road and Gilson College face heavy congestion, long delays and safety risks.

Every day, thousands of people who drive through Brimbank battle against the relentless traffic congestion on Taylors Road. Council has heard the community and is calling on the government to
declare Taylors Road a state-managed major arterial and to duplicate it. Community members are invited to join the campaign.
