I live in Burnside area and use Taylors Road to get to the Brimbank Leisure Centre frequently for swim lessons and gym. First of all, getting rid of the roundabout at Kings Road and Taylors Road Intersection was very good and much appreciated. However, the Taylors Road stretch from Kings Road to Gilsons College takes a long time to drive during peak hour traffic.

The areas past Caroline springs have seen a lot of growth and a lot of new families have moved into the area who really deserve better connectivity to move in and out of the area during peak hours within a reasonable timeframe.

The initial planning by Brimbank Council’s planning department should’ve considered the growth potential of the area behind Brimbank council limits on Taylors Road and provision should’ve been made at the planning stage to have multi lane Road which lined up with Melton City Council’s plan. There appears to be lack of consultation at the planning stage of this section of the road which did not leave enough land for future widening of the road.

I request Brimbank Council to request the State Government to take the ownership of widening the Taylors Road as the cost to do so may not be within Brimbank Council’s ability to raise required funds. The widening of Taylors Road will ease a lot of congestion being experienced in the area and help hundreds of cars to stay on the main street during peak hour traffic instead of driving through the already congested residential roads. This will bring a lot of relief to the residents and to the road users alike.
