As a local resident of over 15 years living near Taylors Road, getting on and off this road has become a daily gamble.
Every day I witness accidents and frightening near-misses. Traffic is constantly banked up in both directions. On some occasions, it has taken me 20 minutes just to travel from Keilor Central Shopping Centre to Delahey Village — a short trip that should normally take only around 3 minutes without traffic. With the rapid growth of suburbs beyond Caroline Springs, Taylors Road is simply no longer viable and can no longer cope with the volume of traffic it now carries.
I understand that Brimbank Council has been advocating for many years to have Taylors Road declared a major arterial road so the State Government can take over funding and deliver the upgrades this corridor desperately needs. However, despite the Council’s long-standing efforts, very little progress has been made.
This ongoing situation is both disappointing and deeply frustrating for those of us who live with these conditions every single day.
