Brimbank Mayor Cr Virginia Tachos has welcomed the Victorian Government’s $170 million commitment to upgrade Taylors Road.

The Government has announced it will declare and duplicate Taylors Road, between Kings Road and Kurung Drive, if it wins November’s State Election.

Taylors Road runs through Keilor Downs, St Albans, Delahey and Kings Park, connecting growing communities and linking with the Calder and Western freeways.

“We’re now calling on the Opposition and other parties to match this promise,” Cr Tachos said.

“Since launching our Fix Taylors Road campaign in March, more than 1700 people have signed our petition calling on the government to declare Taylors Road as an arterial road and to duplicate it.

“We’ve heard more than 100 stories about your daily difficulties with Taylors Road. We’ve heard your frustrations and now the Government has heard you as well.

“Your stories have made a real difference. You have helped the decision makers realise how important Taylors Road is to our community.

“We could never have achieved any of this without you.

“No matter who is in government, Taylors Road must be fixed. Declare, duplicate and deliver.”
